Cheap Charlie’s Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I've eaten here several times over the years. It's time for a review. I went w/ three others on Sunday May 31, 2015 for an early lunch. Our server was good and attentive- she made sure our glasses weren't empty. The c.c stix were fantastic which was good b/c the last time they were soaked in butter and gag worthy. I always order the grilled chicken fajita salad and get the pita bread and use salsa as my dressing. The chicken was dry this go round but besides that... it was fine- I used my boyfriend's left over ranch dressing to give it a lift. The pita was tasty. The others ordered a chili burger, club, and turkey reuben- the bread for the reuben looks really good- maybe next time. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. The bathroom was clean but could use an update.

Definitely a local institution. I used to love it as a kid. Ten year old Travis would call this five stars. I dunno if they went downhill or if I just really loved pizza then, but adult Travis calls this 3 stars. I wouldn't say they have the best anything in town, but everything about it is competent.

Best restaurant around. Great service, great atmosphere. I have not had a bad meal here. Last time i was here, i had a fish sandwich and it was great. The time before, I had a pizza burger and that was really good too. The breadsticks with cheese is awesome. Whenever im around the north end i try to stop by cheap charlies

Originally located at the corner of Krafft Road and 24th Avenue, this Fort Gratiot/Port Huron staple sold out and was replaced by a Walgreen's in the late 1990's. It returned in 2005 to a new location rough 1/2 mile to the north and on the opposite side of the street, In a location formerly occupied by Chi-Chi's. Staples here are the specials, which change daily. "Crabbee Mondays" are famous, with a lb of Crab legs for $9 or the Snow Crab Dinner for $11. Weekends are a red meat-lovers paradise, with a tri-fecta of 12-oz sirloins for $14.50 on Fridays, a lb porterhouse for $18.50 on Saturdays, and 10 oz Prime on Sunday's for $13.50. Get here early though - it gets packed quickly. If you want to go lighter, would recommend the appa-teasers, with CC Stix with cheese being the mouth-watering topper. Tons of beers on tap too, and a healthy Happy Hour from 3-6 pm. All in all, a great neighbor food joint if your at the North end.

We had a party of 6, every meal was a 10! You got to get here ASAP! Constantly busy with people coming and going! We will be coming back even though it is 1 hr from home!

Apps before movies. Greasy gross food. We were able to grab a beer to wash the slop down. The server seemed completely on interested in his job. He was more into socializing and he was also sweating profusely which was very gross.

Service took 45 minutes to get food, beer taps were down during Happy Hour, and the food was simply OK. As a visitor to the area for the weekend, it would be hard to believe there are not several places better.

We got the breaded mushrooms, the best ever, light crispy, fresh. Cod was wonderful . I travel about 30 mile to get here. Fast polite staff, if your in the area, give them a try. Fast seating, even when busy!

This is the best place to eat in fort gratiot!!!! They have a very diverse menu!!! There will be something for any tastebud. They have the best fajitas in town and their pizza is second to none (try the meat ya). You get free popcorn as an appetizer. It's fun for the family or for a date. There's a bar area as well. This is a can't miss experience. Skip the chains cheap Charlie's is the place to eat!!!!!

  • Andy B.

The food here was really good but the slow service keeps me from giving it any more than 3 stars. There's is also way to much on the menu, it's impossible to decide what you want when it seems like menus from 10 restaurants combined.

  • Bonnie S.

This review is a little late, but better late then never. Ate there about a year ago and husband ended up with food poisoning! Also didn't enjoy the rude wait staff either. Food is mediocre to say the least. Would never step foot in that place again.

  • Robert M.

Added a 18% tip for a table of 6. With 3 kids. I understand adding tip to large groups but a table with 3 kids is crazy. And the service sucked on top of it. No wonder they have to add the tip

We eat here pretty frequently but mostly on Monday for the crab dinner special. Husband likes the pizza and the kids menu is better then average with more variety then most restaurants. My kids love the free popcorn while we wait and the cookie or popsicle after dinner.

I live in NYC and every time I come to visit family in PoHo, I ask to go here. Usually this isn't my kind of place, but, for some reason, I like the food here. No, it's not gourmet, but, it's fun. I usually stick with a pizza that I create myself. The breadsticks that come as sides with the meals are addicting. There are daily specials and overall the place is pretty inexpensive. Overall, a super casual fun (sometimes loud) place to get good food and drinks. Always consistently good service, too. The only thing I HATE about this place is the purposely incorrect spellings on the menu. I get it: it's supposed to be fun (it's not) but being someone who only goes here once or twice a year, it takes forever to read the descriptions because everything is spelled wrong and I don't know what the hell they're trying to say.

  • Steve C.

It's decent, nothing special. The menu will take you a half hour to decide what you want. it just seems to have way too much going on. Service decent, greeter not so much. We had ribs, not bad. We had pizza, not bad We had a reuben.... Popcorn wasn't bad

    (3)
  • Suzzette M.

The food at this place is horrible. I know there is not a whole lot to choose from in Port Huron/Fort Gratiot, but c'mon people....this place sucks. I would rather get a $5 Hot N Ready Pizza. Food was.....Food? I don't really have any other way of putting it. It seems like people in this area like it, but I feel like maybe they have just become accustomed to the place. If this place was in Macomb county, it would have never been opened this long. I guess desperate times and huger call for desperate measures.

Nothing special about this. I'd drive ten minutes south to downtown Port Huron and get some great food.

We were camping at Lakeport state park and was looking forward to going out to eat at Cheap Charlie's....we were a party of six, put our name in. It was the end of the dinner rush. They kept calling for a party of six, "Larry".... We were a party of six, "Laurie".... There was clearly no other party waiting. We jokingly told the host (he was some sort of manager or shift leader?) that there is no Larry and laughed. He RUDELY yelled at us and said, fine I will just seat you. He was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I have never been treated so poorly. We would have left if I didn't need to feed my two year old child. Our waiter was extremely nice, the food was mediocre at best. We will not come back or ever recommend this place to anyone! We come from two hours away to camp in this area, next time we will go to Olive Garden or anywhere else, where their standards are higher! As other people wrote, the menu is super hard to read and has just way too much going on. (If I could give this place less than a star, I would)

My favorite local restraunt. Great food and reasonable prices make for a great value. Come see why all the locals love this place!

    (5)
  • Cindy G.

Not sure why this place is always busy. The food is never good even with their big menu. Three times a charm? NOPE...3 strikes, your out!!! Don't waste your time or money.

I was part of a party of 4 stopping in for snacks and a couple drinks on a Saturday night. It was around 11pm and while they were getting the restaurant ready to close down, our wait person was great. We weren't rushed at all and she was friendly the whole time. She was actually a really good sport for getting to be late on what was probably a busy Saturday just before Christmas. I wish I could remember her name, but she had very long hair in three braids. We decided to share a Kitchen Sink pizza, a pitcher of beer and a pitcher of punch. (She was helpful enough to suggest the pitchers to save us a couple bucks.) The pizza was delicious. My husband and I loved the sauce and the cheese. The punch was good too. Much too easy to drink!

We were given a gift card from here and decided to use it for a call ahead pizza. Maybe they had it sitting too long waiting for me to pick it up, but it sure tasted like it wasn't fresh out of the oven. Cardboard-ish, chewy crust. Toppings nothing special. I'm not sure what to use the remaining balance on the card for, but it won't be a pizza.

Everytime I come to Pt. Huron I try to finagle a trip to Cheap Charlies. I love, love, love the C.C. Stix with cheese. It was freezing the last time I was there. The air was cranked to zero degrees and I was uncomfortably cold through my entire meal. The waitstaff is attentive. This is a family-friendly joint so there are kids everywhere. The beer is good, the atmosphere is great. I am still dreaming about the bread sticks, yum!

Wow! This place is a Port Huron staple. If your passing through stop by for a beer, popcorn and pizza. Menu is spelled phonetically and entertaining. Staff wears silly shirts about what happens when you drink too much, these are also for sale. Some might find them offensive, those with a sense of humor will find them amusing. Food is fairly priced and good. Daily specials are the way to go. My all time favorite is the "Pleased to meat ya" round pizza and C.C stix with Cheese. Plus come on they have Sam Adams on tap!

    (4)
  • Rayna P.

You must have C.C sticks and cheese.... a sure artery clogger! Fun atmosphere and a great place to take the family. If you have kids, Cheap's is great. They offer either a ice pop or cookie at the end of their dinner.

  • Josh W.

Cheap Charlies is a foundation of Port Huron's north end. The food is good and the beer is cheap and flows like water. You can find this place pack almost every day of the week with locals, be ready to fight for a seat in the bar on weekends. If your from out of town enjoy the home town atmosphere of the locals and staff.

Very limited vegetarian menu, but good food at reasonable prices, and friendly service. Be sure to try the C.C. Stix with cheese sauce!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
